Searching the Library Catalog (Primo)

This how-to guide will cover tips for searching the library's online catalog for materials.

Linking to items in the catalog

If you are writing an email, or want to insert a link to the catalog in a document you are creating, you can use the catalog's permalink tool to generate a link.

The permalink tool allows you to generate a permanent link back to a specific item record. When using databases and other discovery platforms like library catalogs, it's important to use permanent links, as links from the browser bar at the top of the page can be temporary and change.  A permanent link guarantees that you will be linked back to the particular item that you were looking at.

To generate a permalink click on the permalink icon (last in top row) under the "send to" section heading. Then, click on the "copy the permalink to clipboard" text underneath the generated link. You can then paste this link into a document or email for later reference.

Underneath the row of icons is a bar with a generated link, which has a copy permalink to clipboard button underneath it. The copy button is also outlined in red.
