Content from the Merck Veterinary Manual is available online for free.
The Merck Veterinary Manual contains information on, signs, diagnoses, and treatments for diseases and disorders in all fields of veterinary medicine. It also provides information on management, nutrition, public health, and other topics.
You can use the Merck Manual in a number of ways.
When you first enter the site, there will be tabs at the top of the page. You can select "Veterinary Professionals" or "Pet Owners."
The Veterinary Professionals section provides detailed veterinary information for veterinary health care professionals and students.
The Pet Owners section provides easier to understand information that focuses on pets and their owners.
The first option is to browse pre-defined sections covering main topics by category. Each topic will then be broken down into smaller sub-sections.
You can also use the search bar feature to search for a specific condition, phrase, or topic.
If you live in or near Great Falls, the library has a physical copy of the Merck Manual located on our reference shelf. Books on the reference shelf can be checked out for two days at a time.
