2024 TRAILS Montana Academic Library Symposium

May 22–24, 2024, hosted at Great Falls College MSU with assistance from The University of Providence and the Touro College of Osteopathic Medicine Touro University.

Welcome to the Treasure State Academic Information & Library Services (TRAILS) Montana Academic Library Symposium!

We are excited to host our first in-person symposium since 2019. The Montana Academic Library Symposium will be held on May 22-24, 2024, at Great Falls College MSU with assistance from The University of Providence Library and the Touro College of Osteopathic Medicine Touro University Library in Great Falls, MT. Our Great Falls academic libraries are happy to welcome library and higher ed professionals from across Montana to gather, share, and reconnect at this year's symposium.

This year's symposium focus is threefold:

  1. artificial intelligence,
  2. intellectual and academic freedom, and
  3. reconnecting with colleagues during a challenging time for libraries.

Sessions for this year's symposium will be offered in a mix of in-person, virtual, and hybrid presentations, and more information can be found on the schedules page. We are looking forward to a reception hosted at the Charles M. Russell Museum in Great Falls, and some other unique opportunities for engagement with our Great Falls libraries and community.

We look forward to seeing you in May!

We also wanted to extend a thank you to all of the Professional Development Committee members who helped with planning this year's symposium—

  • Pamela Benjamin (TRAILS)
  • Lindsay Berg (University of Providence)
  • Anne Kish (Montana Tech)
  • Ashlynn Maczko (Great Falls College)
  • Bobbi Otte (Rocky Mountain College)
  • Belinda Potter (Touro College of Osteopathic Medicine)
